三嶼園（シカゴ植物園） Sansho-En（Chicago Botanic Garden）
シカゴ植物園は1960年代後期に計画されて、世界中の植物をコレクションし、市民に楽しんでもらう施設として1972年に市民に開放された。 日本庭園はその美しさをシカゴ市民に伝えるために、庭のスタイルの1つとして選ばれた。
The Chicago Botanic Garden was planned in the late 1960’s and opened to the public in 1972. The original mission of the Chicago Botanic Garden was to create and preserve documented collections of plants from around the world and to display them in a series of gardens that would appeal to the public. A Japanese garden was chosen as one of the styles of gardens in order to introduce people in the Chicago area to the beauty of Japanese gardens. Koichi Kawana from Los Angeles, was chosen as the designer of the garden and has been the only designer.
